Bilastine, the active ingredient in Tinabil, is a potent, selective, and non-sedating antihistamine. It works by blocking H1 receptors with high affinity—three times higher than cetirizine and five times higher than fexofenadine. Even at high doses, Bilastine does not interact with over 30 other receptors, including muscarinic, serotonergic, dopaminergic, and noradrenergic receptors, or other histamine receptor subtypes (H2, H3, H4).
It has a strong safety profile and excellent pharmacokinetic characteristics. Bilastine does not require metabolic activation and is primarily excreted through feces (66.35%) and urine (28.31%).
Tinabil is used for the symptomatic treatment of:
- Allergic rhino-conjunctivitis (both seasonal and perennial).
- Urticaria (hives).

✔️ How does Tinabil 20 work?
Tinabil 20 contains Bilastine, a selective H1 receptor antagonist. It blocks the effects of histamine, a chemical responsible for causing allergic symptoms like itching, swelling, and rashes.

- The tablet can be placed in the mouth to dissolve quickly or dispersed in a teaspoon of water before swallowing.
- Maximum Dose: 10 mg per day.
Children (2–5 years):
- Dose: 4 ml of suspension once daily.

- Drug interactions: Combining Tinabil with ketoconazole, erythromycin, cyclosporine, or diltiazem may increase Tinabil levels, but without significant safety concerns.
